WELCOME BACK AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome back to school!!! We expect that you are full of energy and enthusiasm to continue with the progress that you have developed since the beginning of this school year.

Remember that this is your last school year in primary so work for it to be the best. Don´t forget to try hard to reach your goals and again WELCOME BACK!

Singer´s Show

Activity #1

1. Choose 5 songs from different singers. Read their lyrics and make sure there are NO BAD WORDS.

2. Watch the video of each of the 5 songs. Make sure there are NO NAKED PEOPLE, NOR SEXUAL SCENES, NOR VIOLENCE.

3. Print the 5 lyrics and bring them to school.

* We will raffle in school songs (or singers) which are repeated.

* If you choose group bands you need to be as many students as singers in the band. Example: The 3 Jonas Brothers = 3 students in the band

* SONGS HAVE TO BE ABSOLUTELY IN ENGLISH!

* DUE DATE: WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2010

* Try hard so that videos have the lyrics included so the audience can sing with you (karaoke).

READING
*Comprensión de lectura de la historias leídas.
*Skill lessons vistas.
*Lectura Oral.

ORAL
Prepararán una exposición de 3 minutos acerca
de su programa de T.V. favorito. (Deben anotarse
con anterioridad, ya que no debe haber mas de
3 niños hablando del mismo programa).

WRITING
Escribirán 3 párrafos acerca del mismo programa
de T.V. Deben aplicar la gramática aprendida este
año y los anteriores.

SPELLING/VOCABULARY
Harán un dictado. Aplicarán las palabras / responderán
preguntas de las mismas.

GRAMMAR
Todas las lecciones del cuaderno.

LANGUAGE ARTS END OF 1st PERIOD EXAM

THE LANGUAGE ARTS TEST WILL HAVE 5 DIFFERENT PARTS,
TWO OF THEM ON A DIFFERENT DAY THAN THE TEST.

ORAL EXPOSITION: Thursday, Nov. 29th
WRITING PART: Friday, Nov. 30th

SPELLING/VOCABULARY, GRAMMAR AND
READING: Friday, Nov. 6th (following the schedule)

GETTING READY FOR END OF 1st PERIOD TESTS

A NEW TREE, A NEW ME ACTIVITY

THIS ACTIVITY WAS THOUGHT BY 5TH GRADE TEACHERS, MRS. MONI, MISS CHIVIE AD MISS JORDI, AND OUR PRIMARY COORDINATOR, MISS MARTHA MENDOZA.
STUDENTS AND TEACHERS DID A REFLECTION ABOUT WHICH THINGS WE FELT WERE IN OUR WAY FOR HAVING NICE FRIENDSHIPS AND WHAT ATTITUDES WERE MAKING OUR LEARNING DIFFICULT. WE WROTE SMALL PAPERS WITH THE ACTIONS WE WANTED TO GET RID OFF, WRINKLED THEM AND POURED WATER ON THEM TO HELP THESE BE PART OF THE SOIL. WE THREW THEM IN A HOLE AND THEN PLANTED A VERY NICE, STRONG TREE ON TOP OF. WE ALL HELPED PUTTING THE SOIL BACK IN THE HOLE, FOR THE TREE TO STAND STRONG AND FIRM.
AFTER WE TOASTED FOR OUR NEW ATTITUDES. IT WAS A NICE FEELING THAT WE HOPE STAYS IN OUR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.
